Freeburg Hay LLC is a family-owned and operated commercial hay farm located in the Missouri River Valley of Southeast South Dakota. Established 50 years ago by Gary and Amy Freeburg and joined by their sons, Jory and John. Currently they keep 2500- 3000 acres in alfalfa and mixed grasses. Our goal is to produce an early cut, high quality product that is tested and barn stored. The farm is located at 45916 SD HWY 50, Vermillion, SD 57069. It is easily accessible off a major 4 lane highway and a certified scale is on-site.
Putting up alfalfa near Gayville, South Dakota with the Freeburg family. Lots of equipment, two cutters, four tractors for baling and raking; then, hauling off the field to weigh and store at the home place until sold.
New crop hay off the field ready to deliver to the barn for storage and delivery at a later time.
4 identical balers ensure that all the loads are uniform in size and weight.
Hay is efficiently loaded on the trucks either out of the field or from our barn by 3’s; saving loading time for our freighters.
Conveniently located off a 4 lane highway with an on-site scale, brings ease for loading as well as a protected place to tarp loads for delivery.
